Fishing on the Kalamazoo River has remained steady for all of January and most of this February. The Steelhead are in the full winter phase most holding in deep holes. Most fish seem to be feeding on grubs so wax worms and jigs have been mostly what we have been throwing although spawn has also produced some fish. The most productive jig colors have been orange mixed with some glow and also pink mixed with some glow. As we get this mid-winter thaw this should make some fish start to move.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Tyler
